Yep! Disney Ducks are coming back. Ducktales is coming to Disney XD in 2017! Thom is so excited about anything with Uncle Scrooge and has been waiting for years for them to do more with him.
According to Blogs.Disney.com
This news is too good to bury, so we’re coming right out with it: An all-new DuckTalesseries is coming to Disney XD in 2017! The Emmy Award-winning series from the late ‘80s/early ‘90s is absolutely treasured by our generation, and we are so excited that “every day they’re out there making DuckTales” again. When Marc Buhaj—Senior Vice President, Programming and General Manager, Disney XD—made the announcement, he said, “DuckTales has a special place in Disney’s TV animation history, it drew its inspiration from Disney Legend Carl Barks’ comic books and through its storytelling and artistic showmanship, set an enduring standard for animated entertainment that connects with both kids and adults. Our new series will bring that same energy and adventurous spirit to a new generation.”
The new series will star the same beloved characters as the old: Scrooge McDuck, Huey, Dewey, Louie, Launchpad McQuack, Donald Duck, Duckworth, Gyro Gearloose, Flintheart Glomgold, Magica DeSpell, Poe, Ma Beagle, the Beagle Boys, Mrs. Beakley, and Webbigail Vanderquack.
Gyro, Fintheart, Magica…oh this is going to be awesome!
Then, IDW has been releasing reprints of Disney comics. They are doing several waves of characters and special covers. Starting in April with Uncle Scrooge and each month adding a new title (Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse, Walt Disney Comics and Stories, and then Trade Paper Backs.) Each month, will have a Disney Parks Theme as a variant cover. April–Adventureland, May–Tomorrowland, June-(so special they can’t tell us yet), July–Fantasyland, August–EPCOT, September–Frontierland, October–Haunted Mansion (MY FAVORITE), November–Toon Town, and December– Top Secret! So it is very exciting and I can’t wait to see what they do!
Now, in honor or Duck Tales awesomeness and my husband’s love of all things “Duck” here are some fan art pieces he has done. Thanks to all Thom’s Disney Art “Friends.” He appreciates all your help and letting him know. May Karma smile down upon you.
Thom also did a bunch of covers and colors on the Don Rosa books from Fantagraphics (2nd book has more of his work than the 1st book) Check them out!
