I'm currently working on an animation project, it will start to post publicly and promote our progress once we finish setting up our social media! It's going to be 2d but am making 3d models to help with dynamic framing!
I'm also working on this little program called Mando Maker (5) a long long awaited update to the old Mandomaker (3) I made ten years ago. It's no longer powered by Flash so it works on mobile now and will be updated to include more items than the last! Find it here: www.zammap.com/mandomaker
In the fall I attempted to do Inktober but was really busy for some reason. I really liked the personal theme I picked which was Metal Logos and "album" covers using the main list as the subjects. Here are the only three I got done! I really want to finish these (even those it's been almost a year since I was suppose to complete them lololo)
This was funny one.
TEN YEARS AGO when Tales of Monkey Island came out (MI5) I started THIS drawing. Treepwood and I were drawn by hand and scanned in but when I started to draw in the background on the computer behind them.. I sorta gave up and the project was buried away. Because laziness I guess.
Well then the other day I finished a wonderful new game called Thimbleweed Park which is a perfect little adventure game with many many references to monkey island. And of course it would because it was co made by RON GILBERT!
It made be feel so nostalgic to Monkey Island, my favorite game of all time, that I decided to go back to this drawing and FINALLY finish it up!
It's not perfect though. I found this lovely presentation by the Monkey Island artist, William Tiller, explaining how he did his backgrounds, and I think I broke a rule or two on how to make the iconic whimsical curse of monkey island backgrounds. (I was already half way through the drawing when I found the pdf).
I know it would be stupid to ask for a remake of Curse of Monkey Island the same way the first two game have been remastered, but can you imagine how much more detail we would be able to see of these amazing background art of they did?
I really love the odd cartoon style of Monkey Island and it continues to inspire me as I go on my way to become a self made animator!
Last year I took part of a month challenge called the mini canvas. All the drawings I did were on a 1.5 inch piece of paper :O
They're like little stamps!
Here are some of my favorites
